Northern 911 is proud to be a provider of such a critical community service as 911 call routing. In general, Northern911, through its Emergency Response Center (ERC) is capable of handling any type of emergency notification. Through our 911 Services we route emergency calls for Police, Fire, and Ambulance via both Enhanced 911 (E911), and VoIP 911 (V911). Our technology is state of the art and our staff is highly trained. We operate as a private enterprise PSAP for traditional land line E911 for numerous municipalities across Ontario. We handle thousands of VoIP 911 calls every month from right across the country and have many clients big and small that use our services (Rogers, Primus, Sasktel, Northwest Tel, etc.). Recently, we have entered the exciting world of Telematics and are very excited about participating in this rapidly growing sector.

When we entered the world of emergency service provision, we knew that our Emergency Response Center(ERC) had to be safe and secure.We have made sure that it is. The facility itself is physically secure with extra thick walls and floors and secure access required for entry. We have redundancy in all of our major technology, and can even run the site from another location if we have to. All systems are backed up regularly and backups of all call records are maintained for years. We have multiple redundant paths for all of our telecommunication connections. And power to the ERC is assured by the use of redundant power lines, battery backups and our own building generator. Every step has been taken to ensure that the ERC will continue to operate in the event of any emergency situation, local or national. Your calls will get through!

As we know, technology sets the stage for high quality emergency response. In the end, the people handling the calls determine the success or failure of any particular situation. In this area, we are second to none. Our call takers are experienced, well trained, and care about what they are doing. Our ERC supervisors are certified and are skilled at providing excellent customer service. And all our staff is pleasant and nice to work with. At least that is what our clients tell us.
