Pembroke Police Services Board

All alarms, both domestic and business, shall be registered with the Pembroke Police Service.  The registration shall cover from June 1st to May 31st of each year. The registration shall include all information required by the police to properly enforce and supply the necessary service. The annual registration fee shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00) for a business alarm and fifty dollars ($50.00) for a residential alarm.  This fee shall be paid by June 30th of each year or services will cease.

Unregistered alarms will be required to be registered.  Failing to do so and after being notified, no police response will be given.

No person shall cause or permit a public nuisance by causing or permitting a false alarm on more than three occasions in any period of 365 consecutive days. 

The owner or his agent shall, upon the second attendance for a false alarm, receive a notice by mail for fax informing him of the next step.

Every person who has more than three, will receive a notice that the Pembroke Police Service will only continue to provide a response to an alarm at the location upon payment of a fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00).   A fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) will be charged to provide a response to alarms at that location thereafter.

An alarm may have full response privileges reinstated upon application to the Pembroke Police Service.

First false alarm – no charge – letter of warning

Second false alarm within twelve (12) month period of the first false alarm $260.95 plus G.S.T.

Each subsequent false alarm within twelve (12) month period of the first false alarm - $521.85 plus G.S.T.

The Fire Chief may at his discretion and under the following conditions, except an owner from the requirement to pay that stipulated fee if:

The owner provides suitable evidence, in the opinion of the Fire Chief, that the cause of the false alarm is being rectified; 

The owner provide to the Fire Chief, in writing, a specific date acceptable to the Fire Chief by which time the cause of the false alarms will be rectified.
