ALARM MONITORING TECHNOLOGY
At Northern911, our state of the art ERC (Emergency Response Centre) is used to monitor alarm systems for our clients, as well as performing our E911 and V911 services. Thus our alarm monitoring clients get the benefit of having their customers monitored by a facility that is fully certified to emergency call provision standards. (See About Us - Technology Platform). All end user alarm systems can be monitored and/or tested on a periodic basis and end users and/or client companies are notified as requested. In the event of an alarm, alarm zones and passwords are stored electronically so that operators can respond quickly to contact the end user sites. If an emergency dispatch is required our systems store and can speed dial the appropriate 911 type number for the alarm owners geography. Our over 45 years experience and expertise executing alarm monitoring, and our fully tested procedures ensures our clients and their customers will be handled properly.
At our location, redundant systems are a way of life! We have multiple 911 trunks and redundant routing to answer all calls. If any one of them were to fail, the other stations would continue to operate.
Specifically for Alarms we utilise a System III alarm receiver to handle most alarm signals. Sur-Gard's new System III virtual receiver responds faster than any other system to incoming phone signals. It features patented Automatic Handshake Selection (AHS) technology that responds faster to incoming signals; a vast improvement over conventional receivers. System III's built-in virtual technology learns where a call is coming from and where it's calling to, so the first available line card can answer the call. This process eliminates fixed-line hunt groups and maximizes line card use, so fewer are needed. System III recognizes caller ID, dialed number (DNIS) and originating numbers (ANI) instantaneously - before the call is picked up. Less time on-line means faster response and the convenience of being able to trace the originating call, ghost calls and misprogrammed or malfunctioning diallers. Loaded with dynamic features, System III is the ultimate central station receiver solution.
This state of the art alarm receiver is connected to a computer aided dispatch system with software by SIMS. (Security Information Management Systems) SIMS II is the leading central station software provider in the world, with their products monitoring over 10 million subscribers from over 2400 locations worldwide. Using this software we provide reports and tools necessary to place you on the ‘cutting edge’ of automation technology by allowing report generation on a multitude of parameters from account dealer to postal code to the actual zones.
